Governor Umo Eno Announces Plans To Rebuild Correctional Centre, Upgrade Fire Service

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced plans to relocate and construct a modern correctional facility in the state.

The Governor made this statement while welcoming Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, during a condolence visit, noting that expanding the facility’s capacity will help reduce overcrowding and enhance the living conditions for inmates.

Pastor Umo Eno also expressed his gratitude to the minister for the visit and praised the outstanding services provided by the agencies under the Ministry of Interior, recognizing their significant impact in the country.

The Minister lauded the governor’s efforts in enhancing internal security in the state, noting that he is the first in the country to show interest in upgrading a correctional center.
