Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State launched the APC’s zonal campaign for the November 2 local government elections with rallies held in Keffi and Akwanga on October 30, culminating in a grand finale in Lafia on October 31.
In his address, Governor Sule underscored the need for unity within the party, commending the transparency of the consensus primaries and noting the notable rise in female candidates, with 13 women now on the ballot. To strengthen party cohesion, he announced a refund of nomination fees for those who were not selected—five million naira for chairmanship aspirants and 1.5 million naira for councilorship aspirants.
Governor Sule also reiterated his commitment to ongoing development projects statewide and expressed appreciation to all party supporters.
At the final rally in Lafia, APC leaders, including Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura, celebrated the success of the consensus candidate selection process, urging unity to secure a win for APC and advance democratic principles. State APC Chairman Aliyu Bello called on members to set aside differences for the party’s overall growth.
The event concluded with Governor Sule presenting the APC flags to the party’s candidates, signaling a united front as they approach election day.
