The Federal Government has announced a temporary suspension of the ongoing recruitment exercise into key paramilitary agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Nigerian Correctional Service.
According to a statement issued by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Major General A.M. Jibril (Rtd), the application portal will be reopened on Monday, July 21, 2025.
The pause, the Board said, is part of efforts to optimize the system’s capacity to handle the high volume of applications currently being received.
“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process,” Jibril stated.
He expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm of Nigerian youths and assured applicants of the government’s commitment to ensuring a credible recruitment process.
The CDCFIB emphasized that the decision is technical in nature and not a cancellation, urging applicants to await the reopening of the portal next week.
