Date:

The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6th, and Monday, June 9th, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government. He extended warm congratulations to Muslims both in Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of the significant Islamic festival.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged Muslim faithful to reflect on the spirit of sacrifice and obedience demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, which the festival commemorates. He also encouraged Nigerians to use the period to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in the country.

Reiterating the current administration’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, the Minister noted that President Bola Tinubu is focused on implementing people-centred reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for greatness.

He called on all citizens to support the government’s efforts toward national transformation and socio-economic recovery.
