FCTA APPROVES N10 BILLION FOR NNAMDI AZIKIWE AIRPORT’S PRESIDENTIAL WING REHABILITATION

Date:

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has allocated N10 billion for rehabilitating and upgrading the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. This decision was made during the FCTA’s 9th Executive Council Meeting, where officials discussed the urgency of the project.

According to Engr. Shehu Ahmad, Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), the project addresses pressing structural needs within the Presidential Wing, which faces significant wear and tear. Engr. Ahmad explained that while the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) oversees the maintenance of other airport sections, the Presidential Wing remains under FCTA’s jurisdiction.

The meeting also led to the approval of contracts for constructing dedicated bus lanes for Mabushi and Kugbo bus terminals, installing integrated solar power systems across the FCT, and building residential quarters for staff at the law school in Bwari.
