FCT Police Confirm Two Dead, Two Injured In Suspected Bomb Explosion At Islamiyya School, Bwari

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed two fatalities and two injuries following a suspected bomb explosion at Tsangagyar Sani Uthman Islamiyya School in Kuchibuyi Village, Bwari Area Council.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the explosion occurred on the school’s veranda while three men, suspected to have brought the device, were tampering with it. Two of the men died instantly, while a third suspect and a female trader sustained severe injuries and are currently under police guard.

The school’s proprietor, Mallam Adamu Ashimu, is in police custody for questioning. Authorities have recovered remnants of the improvised explosive device (IED) from the scene, which has been secured as investigations are underway.

FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, has called on the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activities or items to the police through designated emergency hotlines.
