ENYIMBA RISES TO THIRD PLACE WITH NARROW VICTORY OVER AKWA UNITED

Date:

Enyimba of Aba has climbed to the third position in the Nigeria Premier Football League table following a narrow one-nil victory over Akwa United of Uyo on Wednesday.

Austin Onyemaechi scored the decisive goal 12 minutes before full time, heading in from an Imo Obot corner kick.

Akwa United’s difficult start to the season persists, as they remain winless after four matches, placing additional pressure on head coach Baba Ganaru. The Promise Keepers now sit in 16th place with just two points.

In other action, Bendel Insurance secured their first win of the season, defeating Shooting Stars one zero in Benin City.
