Court Restrains George Turnah from Participating in PDP Affairs

Date:

The Bayelsa State High Court has issued an interim injunction restraining Barr. George Alabh Turnah from participating in, attending meetings of, or carrying out any function as a member or officer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The ruling, delivered in Suit No: BYHC/YHC/CV/73/2025 between Hon. Solomon Agwanana and two others vs Barr. George Alabh Turnah, will remain in effect pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

The court also granted an order for substituted service of the processes, ensuring that all parties are duly notified. The case has been adjourned to 3rd March 2025 for further hearing.

This development follows the suspension of George Turnah, a kinsman of former President Goodluck Jonathan, by the Bayelsa State chapter of the PDP. In response to his suspension, Turnah resigned from the party and urged all his supporters serving in Governor Douye Diri’s administration to also resign.

The court’s decision marks a significant moment in the ongoing political dynamics within the PDP in Bayelsa State.
