Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has made a series of changes to his squad ahead of Friday’s international friendly match against Russia in Moscow.
Among the new additions are Brentford defender Benjamin Fredrick, along with home-based talents Isaac Saviour, Sodiq Ismail, and Sikiru Alimi. The four players were previously part of the team that competed in the recent Unity Cup invitational tournament but were not initially listed for the friendly against Russia.
Fredrick and Ismail both featured in the Unity Cup final clash against Jamaica, while Alimi saw action in the group-stage fixture against Ghana.
Before these adjustments, Papa Daniel, a midfielder from Niger Tornadoes, was the only home-based player named in the squad for the Russia fixture.
The changes reflect Chelle’s strategy of blending experience with emerging talent as the team continues preparations for upcoming international competitions.
