Mojisola Meranda has resigned as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, seven weeks after assuming the leadership role. The lawmaker, who represents Apapa Constituency I, announced her resignation on Monday during a plenary session, where she was subsequently re-elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
Lawmakers commended Meranda for her leadership style, which they said brought peace to the Lagos State House of Assembly. They also praised her strength and humility in adhering to the rules and regulations of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
