Akwa United Shift Focus to Kwara United After 1-0 Defeat to Plateau United

Coach Ayodeji Ayeni says Akwa United Football Club of Uyo is focusing on returning to the second spot this weekend when they play Kwara United at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium this weekend.

Ayeni, made the promise keepers aim public shortly after Akwa United suffered a 1-0 defeat against Plateau United at the New Jos stadium.

With the slim defeat, Akwa United dropped one spot to third in group A of the 2022/2023 Nigeria premier league season with 23 points from 14 matches.

In other matches played, Enyimba International picked away win to move second on the league table while Bendel Insurance, Niger Tornadoes and Shooting Stars picked valuable away points.

In Yenogoa, Bayelsa United continued their scoring spree as they put three unanswered goals past group B table toppers Lobi Stars.

Abia Warriors defeated Sunshine Stars 2-1 in Umuahia. In Ikenne, REMO STARS played a 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance while El-Kanemi Warriors’ poor run at home continued as they were held to a goalless draw by Shooting Stars.
