Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno Pledges Support for Increased Women’s Participation in Politics

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has reaffirmed his commitment to inclusivity in the upcoming local government election in the state.

Governor Umo Eno who made this known on the occasion of the 70th birthday of the former Chairman of the State’s Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Ikpoto Okon Osung, pledged to actively engage women in the political process, irrespective of their local government of origin.

Pastor Umo Eno while felicitating the celebrant appreciated him for his unwavering support during his gubernatorial campaign, acknowledging the significant role he played in his journey to becoming the governor of the state.

The Governor dismissed speculations of purchasing forms for any candidate or plans to interfere in the process, restating his commitment to fair and transparent elections.

The celebrant, Ikpoto Okon Osung, while expressing his gratitude to his guests, urged the people to foster a spirit of unity and harmony, devoid of ethnic, religious, or political differences.
