A’IBOM: Over 70 Persons Arrested in Connection to Nwaniba Cult Clash — Police

Akwa Ibom State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of over Seventy persons in connection to Nwaniba Metropolis Cult Clash in Uyo Local Government Area of the state.
 
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon who made this known via phone chat on Advocate Broadcasting Network Television [ https://www.facebook.com/ABNTV.ng/videos/6943044222391706] stated that about six of the suspected cultists will be charged in court Friday morning.
 
Macdon urged residents to go about their lawful businesses with the assurance that the police would ensure their safety.
 
The Police Public Relations Officer attributed the high level of cultism among youths to the breakdown of parental values and societal morals.
 
Macdon also said he is optimistic that the arrest and prosecution of cultists will deter others from nefarious activities and help them become better people.
 
He however tasked youths, and religious organizations to fight against cultism for a better society.
