The Super Eagles of Nigeria recorded a slim win over Djurtus of Guinea Bissau in the return fixture of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier at the 24 de Setembro Stadium in Bissau.
Moses Simon broke the deadlock in the 30th minute through a penalty kick after The Djurtus defender brought down Osayi-Samuel and the first-half penalty was enough for Jose Peseiro’s men to win the reverse fixture.
The slim victory also ended a four-match losing streak for the Super Eagles.
With the result, Nigeria returned back to the top of Group A with nine points and two more points away from second placed Guinea-Bissau.
The third place is occupied by Sierra Leone with five points, while Sao Tome & Principe sit at the bottom of the group with just one point.
