Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has made a full recovery from injury and is set to feature for Atalanta in tonight’s must-win Champions League knockout playoff second-leg match against Club Brugge.
Lookman, who had been sidelined with a knee injury since last month, returned to training with the team on Sunday. The Super Eagles star missed Atalanta’s previous six matches across all competitions but has now been included in the squad for the decisive encounter.
Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed Lookman’s availability during Monday’s pre-match press conference. The Italian side suffered a 2-1 defeat in the first leg and must overturn the deficit to secure a place in the Round of 16. Gasperini emphasized the need for an improved performance compared to the first-leg result.
