The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has expressed its readiness to collaborate with and support the Delta State Local Content Agency (DSLCA) in achieving its mandate of promoting human capacity development and sustainable economic growth in Delta State.
The assurance was given during a courtesy visit by officials of the Delta State Local Content Agency to the NCDMB headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The visit was aimed at fostering collaboration between both agencies and exploring ways to build a sustainable local content framework in Delta State.
Speaking during the meeting, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Felix Omatsola Ogbe, represented by the Director of Corporate Services, Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu, expressed delight over the visit and reiterated the board’s commitment to supporting the agency.
He said the NCDMB is willing to share its technical expertise, operational experience, policies and legal frameworks with the Delta State Local Content Agency to help it achieve its objectives.
While highlighting some of the board’s projects in Delta State, he urged the agency to engage academia, host communities and industry operators, as well as establish research centres of excellence and incubation hubs to promote human capacity and manufacturing development across the state.
Also speaking, the General Manager, Zonal Coordination, Mr. Ifeanyi Okoha, noted that building local content requires complementary mandates focused on manufacturing and attracting investment into the state.
He explained that local content is not about indigenisation but the domestication of value within a state for the overall growth of its economy.
The Director-General of the Delta State Local Content Agency, Olorogun Stanley K., commended the NCDMB for the projects it has executed in Delta State and called for greater collaboration between both agencies on future developmental initiatives.
