The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has announced the commencement of its Under-18 Boys National Team pre-selection camp ahead of the FIBA Africa U18 Zone 3 Qualifiers.
The camp is scheduled to hold from June 24 to July 3, 2026, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State.
According to the federation, the exercise forms part of efforts to identify, develop and nurture emerging basketball talents from across the country.
The NBBF stated that the camp will provide an opportunity for selected players to showcase their abilities and compete for places in the national team.
The federation noted that the programme reflects its commitment to strengthening the country’s youth basketball development structure and building a competitive team for continental competitions.
At the conclusion of the camp, the final squad that will represent Nigeria at the FIBA Africa Under-18 Zone 3 Qualifiers will be unveiled.
The qualifiers are scheduled to take place in Burkina Faso from July 2 to July 15, 2026.
Nigeria will be aiming to secure qualification for the continental championship as the federation continues its drive to develop the next generation of basketball stars.
